Good day my wonderful weebs, If anyone follows me on twitter they would know recently I rewatched Blood Blockade Battlefront and Here is my review on its first season!
Synopsis
Supersonic monkeys, vampires, talking fishmen, and all sorts of different supernatural monsters living alongside humans—this has been part of daily life in Hellsalem’s Lot, formerly known as New York City, for some time now. When a gateway between Earth and the Beyond opened three years ago, New Yorkers and creatures from the other dimension alike were trapped in an impenetrable bubble and were forced to live together. Libra is a secret organization composed of eccentrics and superhumans, tasked with keeping order in the city and making sure that chaos doesn’t spread to the rest of the world.
Pursuing photography as a hobby, Leonardo Watch is living a normal life with his parents and sister. But when he obtains the “All-seeing Eyes of the Gods” at the expense of his sister’s eyesight, he goes to Hellsalem’s Lot in order to help her by finding answers about the mysterious powers he received. He soon runs into Libra, and when Leo unexpectedly joins their ranks, he gets more than what he bargained for. Kekkai Sensen follows Leo’s misadventures in the strangest place on Earth with his equally strange comrades—as the ordinary boy unwittingly sees his life take a turn for the extraordinary.

Voice Actors
When I first started to watch this series, I was immediately drawn to voice actors Aaron Dismuke and Ian Sinclair. I first heard Aaron when he voiced Alphonse Elric in the first series of Fullmetal, as we all know Ian has been my number 1 for 2020 for plenty of reasons.
These guys over the years have managed to pull off some fantastic roles in the past 5 years with Ian Sinclair the main character Sugimoto on Golden Kamuy and Aaron with Senku in Dr Stone.
Phil Parsons as Klaus was an amazing idea! Not that I follow Phil personally or know what he’s been off because I am a very avid follower of the dub voice acting community and I haven’t heard his voice is many things until I looked him and he did voice some good characters such as Reji Momo (Tokyo Ghoul) and Buccaneer (FMA Brotherhood), but something about Phil brings Klaus to live and I have to say he is my faviroute character.
Mike McFarland as the ADR director, now everyone that watches dub’s knows who this man is, this man is a legend as a voice actor and a ADR director, Mike has worked on plenty dub projects such as One Piece and Attack and titan and I was very happy to hear he was the director for this series, I have to say he does a fabulous job with the directing and I hope I continue to see he’s hard work more in the future.
Mike hired Josh Grelle, Micah solusod, Trina Nishimura and Michael J Tatum and many more, this has to be my faviroute cast.
The Story
When the story starts we meet Leo, he’s trying to find a way to get his sisters eyes back after a being of unknown origin took them away and gave him eyes called ‘The All seeing eyes of the gods’ he heads to new York in find of a secret group that may have answers this leads him to
Libra, Libra is a secret organisation saving new York from the other relemly disasters but to me as the season progresses they seem to damage more than they save, Leo isn’t like the others but in time is accepted into the band of misfits we always see him in mortal danger but always comes out in a smile at the end of it, after one of these big fights he goes out to a graveyard where he meets a girl called white who calls herself a ghost.
Leo and White’s relationship is probably the cutest pairing I have seen I a long while, but just meeting this one girl turns his whole world around as following her is second agenda for the young man, that almost leads to death… to one of the characters and because of this death at the end of the season changed Leo’s dynamic,
Fight scenes are my faviroute! Especially the ones specific characters are not In and end up destroying there faviroute place to get away which always had me in stiches.
I guess my faviroute scene isn’t a fight scene, its an episode where Klaus ends up playing a different game of chess for a ridiculous amount of hours, this showed me how powerful Klaus was in the terms that he was human! Human I thought he was defiantly part wolf in the way his face looked ahah

All in all the chaos that libra and the villains cause, there are always moments of happiness and sadness yes a lot of sadness, but that is why this show is just a great watch
The Characters
Libra is full of a bunch of different people, as everyone already knows Klaus is defiantly my faviroute one but I do have to give a few special mentions.
Stephen, I am so glad not much is known about this man, he’s cool, handsome and very collected to be second in command, obviously the story follows the main office and there adventures but I do love the episode where we see everyone at a party.
I love that chain is an invisible werewolf and is a very strong woman that doesn’t take any mans crap and that leads me to KK who I would not have thought to be the woman she was but she is cool.
Everyone in Libra has their own personality’s and quirks and that the fact that most of them are human is impossible!
The Villains, We defiantly don’t get to see much of Femet which Josh plays fantastically by the way reminding me so much of RWBY’s Tryian. The King of despair was defiantly a big player in the first season, but I feel like the ending for him and his plan wasn’t that big at all and it was kinda let down
Conclusion
This show may not be in my top 10 this is defiantly a faviroute, I am all about the Shonen anime, sports anime following at close 2nd, this anime is full of action, family and I defiantly had myself in stiches multiple times.
I give Blood Blockade Battlefront a 8/10.
