Villains that know they are evil and don’t care

(WARNING!! Slight spoilers ahead)

So recently I just finished watching the dressrosa arc in one piece and I thought about dolfamingo and how he just didn’t care about killing and doing the things he did over the course of his life, and then I thought…

How many villains do we have in anime, that just don’t simply care that they are evil.

Donquixote Doflamingo

One Piece

As I was saying, Donquixote Dolfamingo is a villain from One Piece and the Main antagonist for One Piece’s Dressrosa Arc. A former World Noble, descended from the Donquixote Family, Dolfamingo swore he would ‘Kill anyone who ever wronged him’

On top of being the former King of Dressrosa he was the most influential underworld broker under the codename “Joker”. Doflamingo is a conceited, arrogant, and careless individual. When making assertions, he appears to have a predilection for theatrical wording and overdone posturing. Few people frighten him. Doflamingo appears to believe in the “might makes right” attitude, believing that the powerful will be the only ones capable of living in the “New Age.”

Caster

Fate Zero

If you have ever watched fate, you will definitely know why Fate/Zero’s caster is on my list.

Not getting into the details now, Fate zero’s caster during the Fourth Holy Grail War, is Ryuunosuke Uryuu’s servant and has a crush on Saber, whom he mistook for Jeanne d’Arc. Caster gets delight from giving his victims a glimmer of hope and relief before murdering them in gruesome ways.

Allowing his victims hope, he claims, would heighten their sorrow and dread at the moment of their death, a reality that he enjoys.

All for One

My Hero Academia

All for One has been a major antagonist for the My Hero anime. I have always watched this anime in English dub and John Swasey who played All for One, and does a fantastic job.

His true identity as All Might’s arch-nemesis is unknown. His ultimate objective is to take his younger brother’s Quirk, One For All, the only one capable of opposing him, and mould Tomura Shigaraki into the ideal vessel before conquering the entire world.

All For One is a cunning, vicious, and evil figure who prefers to dominate from the shadows and enjoys himself at others’ cost. All For One despises those who continue to challenge him, particularly One For All users. He despises All Might in particular for crippling him and wrecking his syndicate. He also believes in the power of heart hatred, believing it to be a powerful source of strength.

When those of lower strength come around him, they feel frightened and want to flee as quickly as possible.

Solf J. Kimblee

Full metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Solf J. Kimble also known as The Crimson Alchemist, is a recurrent antagonist in the Fullmetal Alchemist series.

Kimblee is a philosopher as well as a psychopath. He considers his alchemically-induced explosions to be of the highest aesthetic and strives to make them as “beautiful” as possible in terms of scope, destructive capability, and sound – sound apparently being the most important criterion based on his oft-displayed keen ear for explosives and manic enthusiasm for loud eruptions.

Hisoka Morow

Hunter x Hunter

And last but not least, Hisoka Morow.

I love Keith Silverstein as much as the next person, but Hisoka’s Japanese Seiyuu Daisuke Namikawa takes his character to a whole new level!

Hisoka is shown as completely self-serving, self-absorbed, and selfish; he does whatever pleases him in some manner. His supposedly sadomasochistic impulses are fuelled by his unquenchable desire to pour the blood of great warriors in combat and his enjoyment of tremendous suffering while doing so.

For him, the pleasure of confronting powerful Nen users in tactical warfare and near-death encounters is an ecstatic sensation. It’s probably one of the reasons he goes out of his way to get new toys to play with. If they break, he either loses interest in them or kills them before venturing off to pursue new possible food.

And that’s it, everybody! If you have a character who you think is worthy of the title, let me know in the comments!

  1. Ooo, these are some pretty bad villains! I love villains that understand exactly who and what they are and are totally okay with that. Though they might be evil, at least they are honest with themselves!
